HARPER'S BAZAAR

Freelance Senior Designer / April 2014–May 2019
Produce marketing materials and custom content solutions for the publishing division. During this time, Harper's BAZAAR was named Adweek's 2015 Hottest Fashion Magazine and Adweek's 2014 Hottest Magazine. The magazine also won the 2017 Hearst 360 Unbound Award for demonstrating excellence in print, digital, and experiential programming. Specific duties include:

  • Coordinate with clients in luxury fashion, accessories, and retail to design in-book advertorials in the voice and style authority of Harper's BAZAAR

  • Produce videos to promote the magazine in presentations and on social media

  • Design and produce both hard-copy and digital comprehensives to sell intricate and never-before-seen high impact units

  • Design for all Harper's BAZAAR events including the 150th anniversary celebration at Rockefeller Center (projecting BAZAAR images onto the Empire State Building), BAZAAR x Coachella, BAZAAR x Art Basel Miami, the Fabulous at Every Age contest, and harper by Harper's BAZAAR events

  • Design creative for ShopBAZAAR.com, the e-commerce site of Harper's BAZAAR

  • Design email campaigns reaching +600K subscribers

  • Execute animated and stop-motion GIFs for social media platforms

  • Prepare digital media for web including photo editing/resizing

  • Design and develop in-house presentation and promotional materials


AÉROPOSTALE

Freelance Senior Designer / August 2013–February 2014
Part of a team of five working to design for the national brand. Specific duties include:

  • Designed nationwide in-store graphics and window displays. Designs developed in New York were deployed at every store in the country

  • Produced direct mailing and promotions

  • Sole designer for Aéropastale’s sponsorship of Z100 JingleBall 2013 event at Madison Square Garden featuring Austin Mahone


HEARST CORPORATION

Freelance Designer / January 2013–August 2013
Produced marketing materials and custom content solutions for the publishing division at the following magazines: 
Popular Mechanics, Car and Driver, Road & Track, REDBOOK, Seventeen, O the Oprah Magazine

Social enterprise to bring composting toilets to flood-prone areas in developing countries

  • Design lead on all marketing and branding for the company

  • Managed, directed, and edited multiple video shoots

  • Created successful Indiegogo campaign to raise over $10,000

  • Designed presentations for national entrepreneur competitions, including winning 1st prize, a $25,000 grant, at the Columbia University Engineering Venture competition

Staff Architect (Unlicensed) / June 2008–June 2011
Designer for residential architecture firm, specializing in environmental design

  • Architectural drafting of design development and construction document sets

  • Led team to obtain a state grant from NYSERDA for building science on the 2011 Builder's Choice Winner, the Hudson Passive House–the first certified passive house in New York State

  • Led coordination of sponsors for the PassivHaus project - including Serious Energy triple pane windows, Waterworks, Philips Lighting

  • Coordinated designers, General Contractors, MEP/Structural Engineers, and Building Science Teams

  • Built physical and virtual 3-D models of projects for presentation and design

  • Worked with graphic design team to develop marketing materials, including The Good Home about the Hudson Passive House project
